For all of The Lunar Chronicles fans out there: Marissa Meyer will be releasing a collection of short stories, Stars Above, only three months after the release of Winter. I haven't read any of these short stories so this is especially exciting for me as I am also a fan of Meyer's. The collection will include a sneak peek of her next novel, Heartless and possibly a look at her currently-secret project. This also means that, barring any changes, Meyer will have two releases in 2016.
We're only two months out from the release of Sarah J. Maas's, Queen of Shadows, and there's a formal reread this month starting on July 6th. If you haven't already given the Throne of Glass series a chance, I would seriously recommend it as it is one of my favorite YA high fantasy series currently out there. You can find more information on the official Throne of Glass facebook page (which I must also incidentally give credit to for the event photo).
With the release of Jurassic World, I need to just take a moment to declare that it is probably the best movie I've seen in the theaters in quite some time; and hey, since we're talking about dinosaurs - The Dinosaur Lords by Victor Milan will be released on July 28th. And while we're at it... I am excited to announce that this August there will be a Jurassic Park re-read hosted by yours truly with discussions and commentary on the blog throughout the month. It's been years since I've read the novel and I am excited to dig into it once again.
Discoveries
- I've run across some great podcasts in the last month or two. Tor's Rocket Talk is a lot of fun to listen to, especially if you're looking for more author interaction and discussions about science fiction and fantasy.
- If you're looking for a mix of reviews and news that's a bit different from your bookish world, I would definitely recommend Senpai Coast to Coast. Honestly, anime isn't really my thing but the unique part about Senpai Coast to Coast is that the discussions are more about themes than they are anime in general and each episode thus far has been unique in it's own right. Even if you have just the barest knowledge of anime, the good Senpai offers some really thought provoking content.

- In more exciting news, filming for Rogue One has begun!
Plans
Now for the big question, what can you expect to see in July? Sadly, there won't be a poll for you to vote on from the Chasm's Depths this month since I'm still behind on the last two books that won. However I will have at least four book reviews up this month in addition to other yet-to-be-decided content. The reading list for this month stands with two audio books (pictured on the first line) and three physical novels.
What are your reading plans for July?
