Chasm of Posts (16)

Welcome to my (hopefully) weekly feature, Chasm of Posts! I've been wanting to kind of do a weekly check in with what was on the blog, what to expect, some great things I've received or read, and whatever is generally going on; and I've finally gotten around to it!

What I'm Reading

The Books
Honestly, my approval ratio on Netgalley was hovering at just about 60% so I didn't think I'd get this but it sounded so good; therefore, I had to try... Thanks Little Brown!

I love Beowulf and I was really interested in Tolkien's commentary and translation of it.

I actually bought this one last week but forgot to put it in the post so here it is! I've been interested in this book since it came out in hardcover but then they did the cover redesign so I had to get the paperback.

I almost requested this multiple times on Edelweiss but never did so when I saw it was out I snapped it up. I am really intrigued by this one.

Stuff from the Interweb
Book Boyfriend of the Week
I just finished rereading Crown of Midnight last night so of course it's freakin' Chaol.

Book of the Week
I've never read a book with SO MANY swoony boys my friends. Plus, the plot execution was brilliant. I really hope we get to see the sequel. M.G. Buehrlen is brilliant and oh so talented.

Book Hangover? Book Panic?
No to both BUT as I was finishing Crown of Midnight I had ALL THE FEELS. Like, I was kind of freaking out inside even though I knew what was going to happen. I just forgot details and ALL THE THINGS.

  1. Loved Gated! I can't wait until Astray comes out in August :) I've seen Salt and Storm around a lot, I'm definitely going to have to check it out!

    1. I haven't heard anything bad about Salt & Storm so I'm taking that as a good sign.

  2. I still really need to read Crown of Midnight. I liked Throne of Glass - didn't love it, but everyone tells me Crown of Midnight is better. :)

  3. I don't think I will ever ever get over anything Sarah J Maas writes. EPIC HANGOVERS ALL ROUND. Have you read The Assassin's Blade? I love that one. I cried, absolutely bawled. Saaaam.

    1. Oh yes, I read The Assassin's Blade, it's part of the reason I wanted to reread the first two books (which you should totally do if you didn't read the novellas before them). It took me forever to finish it because I didn't want Sam to die.

  4. I really really need to jump onto the Throne of Glass bandwagon. I have a few immediate review copies to read and then I will start! I want to know what everyone is talking about when they talk about the awesomeness of Heir of Fire.

  5. Ahh Heir of Fire! I was gonna download it off NetGalley ages ago but it isn't releasing until a while so I must restrain myself ._.

    Happy reading! <33

    1. Lol. There was no way I was stopping myself. I figured I had a better chance while they still had plenty to go around than when the number of downloads was more limited, so to speak.
